Carnaween House is a past project. Jude Star built it up and sold it; it is no longer owned or operated by Jude Star, and today runs independently under its new owners — included here as a track record case study, not a current Jude Star operation.

Carnaween House began as a coastal guesthouse with an exceptional beachfront position overlooking Portnoo. Jude Star's transformation started with a complete restoration of the building itself — then went further, creating the Carnaween House brand and a restaurant with genuine staying power.

The project covered acquisition and vision, a complete restoration and refurbishment, restaurant development, marketing strategy, and the property's transformation into a sought-after Airbnb — a true family business that Jude Star later sold.

One of the Best Spots on the Coast

Portnoo has no shortage of good views, but Carnaween House became something more than that — one of the best-loved spots on this stretch of the Donegal coast. It ran for over 10 years, woven into the local community the whole way through: family holidays, weddings, quiet dinners, groups who came back year after year. It was a place where people made memories, not just visits. For Judith, that was the real proof of concept. Restoring a building with real care, and building something people genuinely love, isn't a one-off — it's repeatable. It's the same approach now shaping 5 Retreat Close, and an example of what's still to come.
